Rajasthan Judicial Services 2025

RJS stands for Rajasthan Judicial Service. Rajasthan High Court conducts the Rajasthan Judicial Service Competitive Examination annually to recruit suitable candidates for the legal positions/vacancies of Civil Judge. RJS exam is mainly held in 3 phases - Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Interview round. This examination is conducted in English and Hindi. The final selection of the candidates will be made based on the prominent and interview marks they secure.

How to apply for Rajasthan Judicial Services 2025 post?

The RJS Exam Application Form for 2023 will be available on the official website of Rajasthan High Court (https://hcraj.nic.in/hcraj/). Application fees vary by category, and applicants can pay online using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or NetBanking. Students perusing their last semester of LLB can also apply.

Exam Pattern for Rajasthan Judicial Services

•⁠  ⁠The Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) exam consists of three stages: Prelims (objective), Mains (subjective), and Interview.
•⁠  ⁠⁠The Prelims exam has 70% weightage for Law and 30% for Hindi and English, with no negative marking.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1.⁠ ⁠Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):-
•⁠  ⁠Nature: Objective type (multiple-choice questions).
•⁠  ⁠⁠Weightage: Law (Paper I and II syllabus for Mains): 70%.
•⁠  ⁠⁠Hindi and English proficiency: 30%.
•⁠  ⁠⁠No Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
•⁠  ⁠⁠Duration: 2 hours.
•⁠  ⁠⁠Total Marks: 100.
•⁠  ⁠⁠⁠Questions: 100.

OMR Answer Sheets: The exam is conducted on OMR answer sheets.
Purpose: This is a screening test, and the marks obtained are not counted for the final merit.

2.⁠ ⁠Main Examination (Subjective Type):
•⁠  ⁠Nature: Subjective type (written exam).
•⁠  ⁠Papers:
     1.⁠ ⁠Law Paper I (Civil Law): 100 marks, 3 hours.
      2.⁠ ⁠⁠Law Paper II (Criminal Law): 100 marks, 3 hours.
      3.⁠ ⁠⁠Hindi Essay: 50 marks, 2 hours.
      4.⁠ ⁠⁠English Essay: 50 marks, 2 hours.
•⁠  ⁠Total Marks: 300 marks.

3.⁠ ⁠Interview (Viva Voce):
•⁠  ⁠Nature: Personal interview.
•⁠  ⁠⁠Marks: 35 marks.
•⁠  ⁠⁠Purpose: To assess the candidate's professional knowledge, experience, aptitude, and suitability for the post.
•⁠  ⁠Qualifying: Candidates who qualify the Prelims and Mains are called for the interview.


Final Selection:
•⁠  ⁠The final selection is based on the aggregate score in the Mains and Interview

Educational Qualification & Eligibility criteria of Rajasthan Judicial Services Exam

AGE LIMIT:-

•⁠  ⁠Candidates must have a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized university.
•⁠  ⁠⁠The law degree can be of 3 year or 5 year integrated course.
If you are in your last year of graduation then also you can appear for the exam.
But if you are appearing for the RJS exam in your last year of graduation then you must have your final graduation marksheet before the mains exam.

•⁠  ⁠Candidates must be a citizen of India.
•⁠  ⁠⁠Candidates must be mentally and physically fit for the job.
•⁠  ⁠⁠Candidates must have a good moral character.
