SSC CGL Exam Overview

Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL or CGLE) is an examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit Group B and C officers to various posts in ministries, departments, and organisations of the level Examination (SSC CGL or CGLE) is an examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit Group B and C officers to be various. The Staff Selection Commission was established in 1975.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Age: 18years 

Maximum Age: 32years 

Important Date: The age is calculated as of August 1, 2025. 

Age Relaxations: Upper age limits are relaxed for candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST, OBC, PwD, etc.) as per government norms. Specific Relaxations:

a. OBC: 3 years 

b. PwD (Unreserved): 10 years 

c. PwD (OBC): 13years 

d. PwD (SC/ST): 15years 

e. Ex-Servicemen: 3years 

SSC CGL: Syllabus & Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Tier-1

The exam is conducted online, comprising 4 sections with 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) in total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam is of a qualifying nature, and marks are not counted in the final selection. 

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam consists of the following sections:

1. General Intelligence & Reasoning

2. General Awareness

3. Quantitative Aptitude

4. English Comprehension

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2025 (Revised)

The SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2025 will be conducted in 2 phases- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper I (Compulsory for all posts),Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer(JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
